The Dutch Football Association is in discussions to cancel the Eredivisie season after their national government has decided to cancel all their major events till 1st September to control the coronavirus outbreak.

KNVB (Dutch football’s governing body) has stated that “intends not to continue playing the 2019-20 competition”, confirms the decision after consulting Uefa. All the Eredivisie clubs will have another meeting on Friday to discuss the consequences and also regarding the reopening of training grounds with restrictions, so that players will be in touch with the game.
